Ariel, collection of poetry by American writer Sylvia Plath, published posthumously in the United Kingdomin 1965 and welcomed as a major literary event. It was published in the United States in 1966. Most of the poems were written during the last five months of Plath’s life, which ended by suicide in 1963.
